used boats virginia

i am a beginner at fishing at i would for some tips?
i am 13 years old and love fishing. but i still dont know a lot about it. any tips would be helpful. i mostly fish in the greenbrier and ponds. i sometimes at kanawha falls and the marmet dam. i use live bait (like everyone) and cranks along with very little soft plastics. i have 2 6ft. poles and abu garica reels. i use 10 pound test and do not own a boat. the biggest fish i have ever caught was an 18in. 5 puond largemouth bass. i caught that off nightcrawler. i mostly bass fish and trout fish. i live in west virginia and fish all the time. so i would love to get some tips from you pros out there. could you also give me some tips for what bait i should buy or try out. thanks
i started to really love fishing at your age as well. but when i started to use lures my love of fishing really took off. im telling you now, you will catch more fish on bait, but if you want some big and i mean BIG bass, you gota use lures. you can do plenty of research online and look at some videos on youtube about some lures. maybe try some topwater, or plastic worms. these techniques are not easy to learn, but when you learn how to use themeffectively it is the best feeling in the world. but i cant explain everything in one answer. but what i can tell you is bass love structure. weather it be lilly pads, fallen trees, rocks, it doesnt matter. but im telling you now look into buying some lures. they make cool lures like frogs, fish, worms, crawfish, what ever you feel like using. if you want to know more in depth things you are welcome to contact me on my email. im 17 and was in the same spot you were in 4 years ago, but i can give you some great facts so you can contact me with any questions and i will get back to you as soon as i can.
