I need advise on what state to live in, please help!?
I plan on moving in the next year or two and I am trying to find out a little more about some of the states I’m interested in. Has anyone lived in MN, WI, ND, SD, MT, WY, MI, CO, WA, OR, AK, or NE? Can you tell me about the good things and bad things about that state i.e. tax rates, silly laws that other states don’t have, food & gas prices, or anything else you can thing of. I want to live in the country with a decent amount of land (50+ acres) and plan on buying property.
I currently live in MO and our property taxes are reasonable, but we have to pay personal property taxes on any vehicle, even on a boat trailer, and it is very high. We also have a very high sales tax.

WA is nice. Some areas where 50 acres are still available. State sales tax is 6.5% but when city portion is factored in for bigger cities, it’s 8.6/+.
No personal property taxes, nor state income tax. Licensing your vehicle is approx $75/+ (depends on tonage for trucks & SUVs) & requires an emission test ever other year until your vehicle is 20 years old. (Some areas don’t require emission tests)
Our “sin” taxes seem high at $5.50/+ for a pack of non-generic smokes.
Many here make the journey South to Oregon to buy bigger ticket items to avoid sales tax.
