same sex couples charged a security bond when hiring a narrow boat?
I have been looking for a holiday on a norrow boat but was put off because I am going with a friend of the same sex and because we are the same sex we would have to pay £200 security bond. That applies if hiring a boat on the Caladonian canal too. Two mene would also have to pay the bond but If it were a man and a woman going they would not have to pay the bond. Is this blatant discrimination, or are same sex pairs more likely to damage a boat? Check on the net – it’s all there – look for holidays on the canals and narrow boats.
