Boat won’t pick up speed?
I have a 1996 nitro bass boat with a 150 hp outboard mercury motor. When I push the throttle into gear, the boat will go, but it won’t pick up any speed at all. Even when I push the throttle all the way down. I think it’s only going 10-15 mph and it used to go over 50. What’s wrong? Please help.
could be a host of things (1) high speed jets stopped up)(2) bad gas hose or pump primer.(3) bad gas(4) low compression(5) fireing problems(6)bad plugs or coils) see your local marine repair man. caution// if you keep running it and it is not firing on one of the cyn,s that means it,s not geting any oil and may burn your motor up(called leaning out)
